So they traded the farm to put him as the third string? That sounds like a big risk but we will see how it works out. This also is in the best interest of wentz's future career.

I saw a clip of his highlights online. He's got some learning to do but it looked like he's got potential to be a good qb.

Carson looked good for his first time. He did well staying in the pocket under pressure. He did take a few hits. I was surprised to see him end a few runs with a slide. Saw the pick, that was thrown into double coverage. His recievers dropped 6 or 7 balls. He did complete 50% of his passes.
CJ Smith caught an interception in the end zone at the end of the game! That was really nice to see.

Carson looked like a rookie playing his first game. Some good and some bad. His oline and WR's didn't help him much. He should only get better. Once he's more familiar with the play book and wr's his accuracy should improve. Quite a few passes were over thrown.

Yeah CJ looked really good. Got burned once but the QB over threw the WR. If he keeps playing like that he'll earn a roster spot. Did he play on special teams at all? Didn't notice last night.

Money talks bullshit walks........

I wouldn't take your bet the way you worded it because I'm pretty sure the Vikings will have more wins than Carson simply because Carson won't start that many games this year. I see the vikes around 9 wins good enough for 2nd in the north. Wentz probably won't see the field much until next year if the Eagles are smart about getting him ready for the big difference in speed between fcs and nfl football imo

Wentz will in by week 3 eagles are a shit team and I would hope they don't wreck the kids future.

That said Teddy is looking better this year with actual protection and some recievers. I am more concerned with run defense 109 yards per game last year was to much. Teddy might not be flashy but gives a team a chance to win and makes few dumb mistakes.

Carson has a long way to go to get to Teddy's level. And that's coming from a packer fan!

Supposedly Carson suffered a hairline fracture of his ribs. That was a pretty nasty hit he took on that play. May be back by the end of preseason...

from Eagles web site:

Quarterback Carson Wentz suffered a hairline fracture in his ribs during last Thursday's game vs. Tampa Bay.

"Carson felt some discomfort and soreness as we began this morning's practice," head coach Doug Pederson said in a statement on Saturday. "We decided to limit him throughout the remainder of practice and, as a precaution, sent him for a CT scan after practice. The scan revealed a hairline fracture in his ribs. We do not know an exact timetable for his return, but we hope to have him back before the end of the preseason."

Pederson said that the injury happened on a short pass to running back Byron Marshall in the fourth quarter of the game. Wentz got rid of the ball quickly, but not before being drilled by linebacker Micah Awe. Wentz was in the game for one more play, a fourth-and-2 incompletion, before coming out. Wentz finished 12-of-24 for 89 yards and an interception. He also rushed for 15 yards.

The Eagles have three other quarterbacks on the roster in Sam Bradford , Chase Daniel and McLeod Bethel-Thompson . The Eagles' next game is Thursday in Pittsburgh.

Fran Duffy analyzed Wentz's performance using the All-22 coaches tape.
