Yes..no?...I guess yes. They get their litter box paws on every damn thing and they're such clean pets...I hear they can be taught to use a commode.

Our cat is an ass! Get's on the counters. Can't seem to cover up his shit in his box. Pukes on the floor. Scratches the shit out of the furniture. Brings birds, mice, even rabbits in the damn house. Digs holes in the flower boxes. I mean a real asshole! Showed up in the dumpster about 7 years ago, took him to the vet and found out he was already neutered. Somebody must have had enough of his shit and dumped him out at our place. Been thinking about transplanting him over to the neighbors haha!

Put scotch tape sticky side up on all your counters, cats dont like anything sticky to their paws. Keep doing it until the stock tape is there when you wake up.

They hate tinfoi crinkled up also. Put it on your counters. When they jump on it the cat will go flying..kind of fun to watch

I used a squirt gun to discourage counter use. Fun fact: a ways back I considered making and selling a calendar with each month featuring a photo of some gruesome cat death. I was inspired by a friend who found a stray cat frozen and wedged in a bare motorcycle frame that fell over and pinned the cat. (Like it was chasing a mouse). He had to pound its head with a hammer to get it untangled…maybe could’ve got rich off that idea…

My housecat of 7 years has started spraying indoors real bad and I am not looking forward to putting him down after trying all the solutions. Hes overly attached to only me and does not hunt so I do not see him being able to adapt anywhere else or as a barn cat. I think rehoming him somewhere outside would cause suffering.

I want a dog but I don't want the headache when we travel so a cat is the next best thing for us. Cats need a scratching post or they will find someplace else to sharpen their claws, we got one and sprayed it with liquid catnip and never have a problem since. When we first got him he would scratch furniture so we used to keep a fly swatter handy for discipline and he learned the rules fast.

Not sure if the video will post but I challenge Sparky to work for his treats. I started hiding them around the house and watching him sniff them out but he got pretty fast at it so made some spinners out of water bottles with a hole in the cap . He spends many hours a week spinning the bottles for a treat.
He has a bunch of stuffed toys and he scatters them out and plays with them and then once in a while he will round them up and put them in pile beside his scratching post .

Yes, there are diffusers and sprays to discourage spraying but its not working. Unless you are referring to lead.
Perscription from the vet? Like anxiety type med. Might help before putting him down. They have treats and if they dont like the treats you can have a topical made where you put it on their skin, usually in the ear. If he is a good cat may want to try before putting him down. Has worked for us on a few rescues we have had that were..well a little crazy.

My wife used to bring home house cats and they would eventually just disappear. It's like our farmstead is the Bermuda triangle for house cats. Strange. What isn't strange is the lack of cat tracks on hoods and the amount of song birds at bird feeders.

I had a cat that I adopted that had been trained to tinkle in the loo. Such a win for the family - no litter!
