Dean Nelson- where is the predicted accumulation map?
Right here. First wave keeps moving a bit north and west with each run the second wave has been pretty consistent down in the SE crorner.

It was really foggy about 90 days ago. We'll get hit really hard again the first week of March.

Same here. I used to work construction and get laid off in the winter. Now that I work them the older I get the less I like winter. Last winter ruined it for me. Way to long.

After everyone left this evening I finally dug the snow blower out from behind the boat. It started on the second pull and ran great. Hoping we don't get any and I did that for nothing. There hasn't been to many winters in ND that a guy doesn't need one until this late into winter. Hoping we don't get any and I did that for nothing. The older I get the more I hate snow and cold.

Hoping for a colossal snow storm so I can justify a ranger purchase with a plow to my wife.

Dean, your accumulation maps always appear a bit light.
they only give two options the kuchera and the 10/1. Last I saw this storm was something like 16 to 1 so kuchera is tracking closer. Problem pivotal has is they don't really give you a good blended model so you're almost always basing it off of one single model run which is never the most accurate way. They also have a tendency to drastically overestimates snow that's any further than two days out. But in the end it's nice to have a pretty good general idea and a hell of a lot better than not knowing anything other than what the guy at 6 on the news used to say. Here's what the 10.1 model looks like for the same model run.

Just buy the damn thing!!!! Don’t wish this horrible snow on the rest of us. It’s easier to ask forgiveness than permission. Once it’s in the garage it’s part of the family.

I’ve been enjoying easy access to ice. A dusting will be just fine.

The chance of these
high impacts occurring is where the uncertainty remains.
Those maps could be bogus

Yup, it's coming down in South Bismarck now, blowing out of the east. Hmm. Home in bed would be better, but it's nice and warm at work.

My brother and his family left for Minneapolis a few minutes ago. Might be a hairy drive this morning.

the guy at 6 on the local news generally gets closer on the amounts

the last few years I’ve noticed that social media posts have a bias toward over-estimating amounts - often way over

even NOAA, NWS, etc

time and time again - how is that possible unless it’s purposeful? they should be over/under about the same number of times

I’ll stick with the guy at 6 who has to put up with locals giving him crap if he exaggerates

I'm 99% sure I will be starting up the snow blower tonight, after supper, and making the 26'x100' path an easy thing with the 11hp blower. That sucker tosses the white fluff a good 75' to the south. Let her buck...

hmmm ... you know there is like 3 different "guys at 6" local news

my gut tells me this is most likely accurate:Screenshot_20181225-180341.jpg
