If we get the wind they are talking about tomorrow or Friday, it wont matter if it's 6 inches or 24, we be screwed any way you look at it.

After seeing these constantly last year, I'm thoroughly convinced that you need to take their prediction and divide it by 10.

of course this time it’ll be more than the graphics predict - because that’s how it works

It'll be interesting to see cuz pivotal is normally High by 25% close Into the Storm and high by God knows how much a week out! But pivotal has been absolutely rock-solid on their predicted amounts while the National Weather Service is generally predicting about 25% more so I'll be curious to see how this one ends up. although they are backing off that second wave out east a bit and definitely pushing the core of this storm a little further north towards Minot in the latest model run.

Slightly off topic but did anybody notice on the dot web page that somewhere along the line Bismarck went from 3 road cameras to flipping 16! Seriously there's now more cameras in this town than there are off ramps!

There is only one TRUE model that gets it right every time without all the high tech sophistication. And that is good ol mother nature. Because you CANNOT predict what she will throw at you at any given moment. Do like we did in the old days, let it snow, blow, stay home, and clean it up when it's done.

I would say the snow is good for pushing geese south...except Pierre is supposed to get more than Bismarck!

No kidding...with this snow and the 40mph winds tomorrow, most gravel roads getting to the lake access points gonna be blown shut for a while...sucks.

delayed --- my thought is a smaller line of snow vs the width that Dean's maps refer to. The cold temps are not moving much either; that deters the first blast. Did they plan on the temps lowering that much --- we had that clear slot here in little minne and it was cold - that put on 3 inches of ice quick. IMO its still all up in the air --- that damn high above the great lakes may be more stubborn than what they think.

when the wind turns from the NW --- flare like a SOB --- lets keep our ice thin and open water ready to open #noicefishinginapril #hardwateroverrated

BISMARCK - Regulators say the volume of natural gas flared this year in North Dakota reached an unprecedented level.
Operators burned off the natural gas associated with oil production due to the lack of plant and pipeline capacity in the state. The volume flared was 527 million cubic feet per day. In October alone, that's enough to heat 4 million average homes.

The good news is the lakes will be less crowded :)

Just beginning to flurry in Little Somalia. Got home from the grocery and liquor store just in time.

I'm taking a self-imposed time-out from those two items. Well, as much as possible anyway.

As usual I gained some weight and sluggishness in the last 5 weeks.

I actually lost weight due to fever, massive fecal expungement, and zero appetite. My first Christmas Eve and Christmas Day without a good meal and some booze in many moons.

We were out of town for Christmas but I still managed to exercise 1.5 times. Ate and drank like a death row inmate on the last day in a cell. Now that the fridge is stocked I’ll be spending the afternoon exercising and listening to Jocko remind me of how pathetic I am.

This guy obviously has a death wish. He musta gotten his eating and drinking out of the way too.

Apparently Piepenberg still has a lot to live for and fears/respects the mob.

Same in our household. Thankfully Jr. was at the grandparents. I could barely move from the couch.
