What are you guys seening as far as yote numbers in your area? well deer hunting last year I would generally see one or two yotes a morning with a high of 7 one day and maybe three days in all where I didn't see a single one. this year I've been down there most morning for a month covering an area of about 250 square miles much of the time glassing huge areas with a spotting scope and I've seen a grand total of one so far! no idea if they had a hell of a flare up of mange but whatever it was it looks like it decimated the yotes where I'm at and curious if this is just a very isolated thing or if anybody else is seeing it in their area.

I hunt down south by you and would say I say more yotes and bobcats than usual this year. In fact there were a couple times I had them howling in every direction.

Saw more coyotes in our area in 2I this year than ever before. Didn't go a day without seeing one or two. Used to be one or two a season. All the ones we saw and have seen on trail pics seem to look healthy.

We have too many around here. Hear them howling and yowling every night. I can tell you for sure that a guy better hit and recover his deer before dark or there is a VERY good chance you will find a ripped up pile of mess in the morning. Recovered a really nice bow killed buck for a guy this fall at 1 am. When we found it and there were tracks all around it, but thank the Lord, no teeth marks. They barked and howled at us from close by the whole time we dressed it and they were within flashlight distance of the guy as he sat on his deer while I went to get the wheeler. Kickemup apparently had a guy smack one in the noggin with a flashlight that we still haven't heard the full story on. That's a bit too bold for a critter. When hunting season is over, I'm going to hit'em real hard with the snares. I have a real strong dislike for coyotes and I'd prefer a situation more like you described Dean.

I've removed 3 from the gene pool this fall and gave 2 others a fair to middlin' startle.

There are lots of coyotes around. It was too warm during rifle to see them much.

Sounds like a next year buck. A real hornhunter would have held off for a 150..............

Well true but it's just a time thing. you put enough time in especially long range glassing at first light since they tend to show up allot more at a mile and and half then just what you see from the truck as you drive and for what ever reason in this roughly 15 by 15 mile area they are just up and gone. not sure if it was mange or poison or a combination along with just not timing it right on my end. either way an area that was swarming with them a year ago is now very quite.

Hell maybe they moved just down the road to hang out with all the other vermin down by the river.

There are shitloads, the body count is 7 so far and they haven't been too hungry yet. My normal deer scrap pile hasn't been touched so far, after this system passes through it will change.

Many and more. They like to sing me off the tree stand and the long walk back. I feel like a maestro directing a chorus.
