Something doesn't seam right here. Those horns are awfully white for how long you say they were there. It appears you also found a pit full of dermestid beetles, not even coyotes can lick an eye socket and vertebrae that clean.

Tell me again exactly what species of beetle it is that chew the face off a Deer again? I've seen packs strip a deer in 48 hours let alone four months of God knows what chewing on it! Your telling me you've never found a skull like this in the spring? This thing isn't unusual in the slightest....hell is pretty much the norm for any deer that got found by a pack.

Same deer just before the shot.

Is he 180?
Oh hell no. He was the product of knowing we were about to get slamed by the storm followed by me agreeing I would help my buddy find a deer and the folks saying they really wanted a deer. So figured instead of having a conflict of interest with my buddy I would just take this deer since he was in a easy spot for retrieval....well it was until he went all Harry Houdini on me and disappeared.

How fast the deer was stripped clean wasn't my hang up. I've seen coyotes clean a deer down to nothing overnight. However none of them had a bottle of bleach with them. I'm just saying those antlers look really sun bleached for a deer that's only been dead for 4 months.

Do you have a front picture of the buck you found? Or more pictures of the buck when he was still alive? The one in the last picture you posted looks much bigger.

Yeah that pic is definitely deceiving you have to look at the ears to get a better idea. This is the only other shot I have but its hard to see the rack against the grass. His rack is definitely bleached from what it was.

Note the bushes in the background. The red area is where he was standing at the shot and the green is where he was found. You can also see a few of the now pushed over buck brush to the right of the green arrow.

My dogs got a hold of a deer head this winter when it fell of the trailer. I just let them finish. Pretty much looks exactly like that right now.
