Dead Batteries

All the small dry cells. What is the best way to get rid of them??? Doesn't seem prudent to just put them in the household garbage. My wife said "you have way to many things cluttering up your mind".

Any place that sells battery will usually take them as they have exchange batteries anyhow. Napa, Auto Zone ,etc
