This may be one of my favorite threads ever....short-term in the next couple of years I plan:

Cascade Lake perch Ice Fishing
Ft. Peck Lakers
Florida Groupers
Rainy River sturgeon
Arizona Red Ear Sunfish
Winnipeg Walleye
If you decide to head out for Ft Peck Lakers...pm me. I am by no means an expect but have fished them Summer/Fall/Winter several times. Can point you in some good directions regarding seasonal locations/baits/other etc.....maybe try to help you shave off that typical day of character building that accompanies trying something new....when I go on a trip with buddies we tend to plan the amount of time we are going...then add one more day because it always seems you lose a day to the learning curve. I will say, once you go do it...plan to go back, you will be addicted. I am taking my dad out there for his first trip this year...he has never caught a laker (that should completely jinx the trip but will still be a blast).

My dream spot are 1) halibut fishing in Alaska 2) fly fishing the flats in Florida keys for tarpon, bonefish, and permit 3) this is my biggest dream fly-fishing brown trout in New Zealand
Any fishing in New Zealand would be amazing....Great list!

Anywhere? Lake Sakakawea, especially a boat camping trip. I've been around the country and prefer it here. Less traffic. People respect space.
I grew up on Lake of the Woods and later Montana. Then I lived in Florida for a couple years where I spent most my weekends fly fishing the coast. Fly fished Boston harbor for stripers once. That was cool.

1. BUT......internationally? After much consideration, my top destination would be a horseback trail ride fly fishing the rivers for Taimen in interior Mongolia. Camp with nomad guides and shoot some arrows.
2. Northern Norway for codfish, especially overnight.
3. Amazon River tributaries for golden dorado and peacock bass on topwater lures/flies.

Fished the Sea of Galilee for an hour a few weeks ago, that was unique.

How did you guys do? What side of the boat were you fishing out of?😉
Just one tilapia looking fish in an hour caught by the one guy that was not a fisherman. It wasn't really a guided trip just throwing a line off the side of a tour boat to say we had done it.

Been out of there on a boat three times.

Looking for crude oil spills... not fishing. 🤬😭
Did that area ever recover? I remember it would be decades of disaster, as the media told us, evil oil and such just screwed that area for a generation or two.

it was in active recovery when we were trying to find oil

shrimp being chased out of the water by gamefish within FEET of the little
oil we could find

of all the places where nature is tolerant of oil, the Gulf is about the best suited

I laughed when the news made comments like that before we even went looking

The Science didn’t say it was generational disaster…. propagandist feds and news said it was 😁

Hitting up Cabo October 11th for 10 days, its when they have the $6,000,000 marlin tournament. Not fishing the tourney, but buddy I am going with, his father has a big cabin cruiser that we will be fishing out of for a day or 2 prior to the tourney.
Hoping to lock into one, or for that matter anyone on the boat.

I just did 17 days guidless in South Africa and my life was in natures hands at least once a day (and for another month after I got back) I had too close for comfort encounters with every specie but lions. Got charged by bull elephants, hippos, leopard, great white shark, rhino, crocs, monkeys, cape buffalo, warthogs, zebra, giraffe, kudu, etc...all of which were close enough to run up & smack on the ass. Targeted landbased sharks, rock surf species, deep sea species, and freshwater tigerfish. went out to sea from the most dangerous boat launch in the world. Came home with 2,000+ photos and videos. My only regret was not having a much better camera with me.

Would definetly do that trip again...Once I get videos edited I'll probably make 2-3 posts here detailing each leg of the trip.

Next trip is cabo surf in June for Roosters, Cubera, sierra macks, and giant hawkfish

Another Awesome trip I havn't got around to posting on here was Tybee Island Georgia for Bull Redfish in October. I've went twice so far, and will probably continue to go every other year. Basic live bait surf rig with a live or dead mullet or similar baitfish, theres VRBO's and Airbnb's all along the beach for easy walk out access whenever you wanna wet a line. Downtown Tybee is fun at night if you like doing some bar hoppin, the Pier is fun to fish, and theres lots of backwater creeks and bridges for slot reds, flounder, sea trout, sheepshead, etc.

Fly into Savannah GA, rent a car, and Tybee is about a half hour drive from the airport. I bring my own reels, smaller travel rods, and just buy a couple big surf rods, rod holders, & a cast net at walmart.
The surf produces lots of big redfish up to 45", misc sharks and rays, a surprise tarpon or two, and a half dozen smaller surf species.

Skipped the whole thread. Saw a bit of MSA awesomeness. Will go back and read through; taking my MSA humble pie:

Without hesitation: Floating the White River, AR; throwing bass lures on casting gear for giant trout.

Could be realistically done in the 'Race in Oct/Nov with less action(?). Caught an 8lb rainbow off the Blocks on an 8in Jointed Rapala on an exceptional day for fishing in mid-November: Was after pike: It seemed the whole ecosystem was in a confused mind fuck: Warm rain, frogs and bugs flying around...

Just got back from The Bahamas. DIY bonefish trip on one of the out islands. I'd dreamed of bonefish on the flats my entire life. Blew my expectations out of the water. 5 stars. Would recommend.
I've often wondered if bones, tarpon and permit are ever eaten?...

Kermit....Piggies.....RIP Eddy
:D A conjunction within itself is a pause. Punctuation before a conjunction is superfluous and one of the reasons conservatives have trouble/anger reading the "classics" except Papa's work.

No punctuation:

It's a dividing point between generations. I work with young'ns who don't put the comma in and I just can't NOT put it in. Kind of like two spaces after a period. I know, I know, double negative....
