Does anyone else get telemarketers and sales people from all over the US calling you ? And is there a cure for this besides changing your Phone number ? I tell them that I am on the do not call list and threaten to turn them in but I keep getting new calls.

Yeah .......i got rid of them when i ditched my land line. You can always play with them by answering the call and then set the phone down and see how long they go since many are not allowed to hang up. The other is to answer and seem very interested in what they are selling and keep asking questions. Once they get to the hard sell portion just let them know you have no intrest in their products your just having a competition with your friend or brother to see who can keep a telemarketer on the phone the longest!

You have to renew your Do Not Call every 5 years if i remember right. We don't get any since going on it about 8 -10 years ago.

We haven't had a landline since 2012, and I still get random telemarketers, robo calls and survey calls at least 3 times a week on my cell phone.

simple...hit answer..hit end...works for me...there for a while..SOB's where call all the time... they .haven't called my land line since.
I think after several pick up and hang up...they get the drift and take your number off.

All kinds of calls. For two years every day I get a call that says "is this Bobby Korugian" if this is Bobby Korugian please call XXXXX. Then about once a month it's a call that the IRS is going to sue me. Ya ya go ahead. Then it's the guy that says he is working for Microsoft and there is something wrong with my computer. Type in XXXXX and we can fix it from here. OK. tap tap tap. OK. Something wong, you type wong sequence. OK. I'll try again, what was the sequence. Da sequence is XXXXX. OK tap tap tap tap. OK. You no type in write sequence. What you not understand. I'm kind of old my hearing is not good could you give me that sequence again, but slow. OK da sequenc is X x x x. Ok I think I have it this time. tap tap tap tap OK. You still not get right what wong? You not typing what I tell you. ------------ about four times and then they get ticked.

It's easy to become aggravated with these calls, OR, it can be kind of fun playing with them once you get an idea of how to answer the call. For me life is more interesting and fun when you can turn the tables on them and become the aggravator instead of the aggravated. At least the caller is working at a job instead of living off your tax money. I do sometimes wonder why so many of them speak such poor English that for me it's a chore trying to figure out what they're selling.

Haha, I did that to a tool and safety products salesman one day when I was waiting in the car while my wife was shopping.
I remembered he had called before when I was busy working and he managed to keep me on the phone longer than most are able too and he made a pest out of himself.

I was bored and I played a very mean mind game with him for a long time right up to checkout when he wanted my CC# for the couple thousand $$$ worth of Junk he was selling that I had whittled down to bottom dollar then I told him at the end this is what it feels like when you are working and trying to get something done and some dick is on the other end of the line that has all the time in the world and thinks you have nothing better to do. Haha Holey Smokers he got mad , I know he was working from home or without a supervisor because he called me back 2 times screaming after I kept hanging up on him. Then I told him I was recording and he hung up. Thinking that might be where some of my problems came from, Who knows what kind of surveys they fill out, They probably rate customers on a scale of 1 - 10 and he got even with me.

I own a small business and get quite a few. If I don't know you then you best leave a message. If they don't leave a message, I google the number. Most of them show up in "1-800 notes.com" so you can at least find out who is calling.

Remember these people, agencies and companies share information. They pay a lot for a list of verified, active phone numbers (where someone called previously and the owner answered the call). So by even answering the call, you almost make it worse down the road as they now know for sure that your phone number is active and it takes calls.

Most smart phone have call blocking ability build in, learn to use it. I have hundreds of numbers blocked. I still get a few calls but it's not nearly as bad as it used to be.

I have purchase several items over the phone with a telemarketer, and have also bought a ton of stuff from door to door guys.

Some of these items are great. I have no issue, unless its political and they are trying to get me to vote retard/liberal

At least they're not gypsy's that show up at your yard. We get them every year. Paving crews, building painters, selling pressure washers and gensets (last guy had FL plates), miracle cleaners, miracle grease/lube guys. And the worst of them all, meat peddlers. Can't stand them.

Fullrut, don't you eat meat? I assumed everyone on here was a meat-eater and would welcome them with open arms. Don't like door to door peddlers either but do have to admit that some of them are pretty good salesman(women). Some of them can make you wish you had a headache just so you could use their product.

Reminds me of the State Fair commercial buildings. They can make you think you're missing out on the best deal of the day if you don't go home with their product. Do have to admit that most of the products I've bought at those stands don't work nearly as well for me as they do for the exhibitor. Still not old enough to walk away from them every time. Drives my bride nuts. Maybe that's part of the desire to make a purchase.
