Buddy of my dad's used to put a prime rib into a D/O, pack it with rock salt, add a few coals, then bury it all day. Alas, that man has passed on and I didn't ever get the particulars.

Pineapple upside down cake is always a favorite at our house. Breakfast bake is also a favorite but it takes awhile.

Holy hell, I'll bet that was good. He surely dumped in some black pepper and garlic...

Breakfast skillets were a favorite of ours while on fly in fishing trips. Everything in a D/O, right on the coals from the night before, and eatin' was good in about 15 minutes. Only downside of a D/O was the weight. Ended up just bringing cheapo used pans to save weight, but the food wasn't near as tasty.

Buttercup squash, surrounded with potatoes onions and carrots. Ring the top with a Polish sausage, and top everything with three or four strips of bacon. Don't forget half a stick of butter and a cup of brown sugar inside the squash.
