People chipping their diesel trucks and running them out of design specs is exactly why I bought new, oh so many years ago. It's been a great investment. Only problem I've run into is the Exhaust Gas Backpressure Sensor. The turbo and exhaust itself both were scoped and given a clean bill of health at around 120k. Yeah, I know that doesn't seem like a lot of miles for a modern diesel, but while the extended warranties may give you peace of mind...they don't stay in business by losing that bet. Most of these vehicles will live long past the factory and extended warranty coverage. Granted, if you are the one that gets the lemon, life will certainly suck.

Only extended warranty I’ve ever bought saved me $9000 in repair bills. I will trade my new diesel at end of warranty or buy an extended warranty when it’s up.
