Looking like it is going to be a nice mild winter. Hopefully the snow isn't too deep and ice fishing access is still good. Beer always tastes better when it's 45 degrees and your sitting in the sun ice fishing.

I stopped looking to weather men for long term predictions YEARS ago. They're even suspect for the 7 day forecast. About 2 days is all I give them and even then it's a coin flip. It's rain gear AND sunscreen for this guy, just to cover all the bases.

fishing open water Jan 1 like a few years back(maybe a little longer) and it was 55 degrees. river that year froze over for only 2 weeks was fishing the river early march that was a EL Nino thing also. HELL YA BRING THAT S**T ON.

fished up by UPA/stanton around that time. Had to put on coat around sunset. That scenario won't hurt my feelings either.
