The reason the starter shit itself is that ford "shut down at intersection unless you push the 'that shit pisses me off' button."
I can't believe any amount of gas savings would come close to the wear and tear on the starter. Hate that shit. Always shut it down.

I'm no mechanic, but I can't believe letting the vehicle shut down every time you stop, and having the starter refire when you let off the brake does not shorten the life of the starter.

Replaced the starter.(27k miles) They didn't find anything else that was setting off the horn or other security issues. 🤞 Picked it up yesterday and used today, so far so good and no unwanted alarms at this point. Gonna be a bit before I get my confidence with it again. Electrical crap sucks.
Figured it was the starter as my prior post stated. The connection to the positive they used a china knockoff for the connector end...I replaced my with a tweco T-62 end that can actually handle 500Amps...the factory ones are only about 250Amps and when they get wet corrode because they are already half burned.

Glad and hoping that was it as it sounds like it was...sucks with that low of miles!

Given the age of the vehicle, I assume no warranty was in effect. What was the total damage to the wallet?
With all the electrical, Extended warranty purchased when bought vehicle.
$660 something, I have $250 deductible.
Starter was $390

Doubt this was the reason here as I rarely use truck in summertime and when I do, I shutdown the auto start/stop feature. Like stated previously, cheap knockoff parts would be my guess.

any mechanic shop will tell you; they always hear well its only so much on amazon why is your part so expensive. I installed the internet parts people brought to my shop and 99 percent lasted 6 months to a year.
