So my wife has a 2019 Tahoe that did the same shit and ended up being one of the big main fuses under the hood. It would light up but nothing when you pushed the break and button in the mechanic that got it off Main Street had to jump the fuse and then jump it just to get it to the shop. I hate all those electronic shit.
I did check starter relay fuse and was good. Haven't looked at many other's yet. Cold as hell up in shop

I found the hole there but key doesn't really fit in there.
Just a round hole ,not even key shaped
The whole keyfob goes into it.

Put key fob in there and push button to try and start pickup..yes it's a security feature..also a way to program remotes etc. It's similar to actually plugging a key in. Your telling the truck no it's not stolen..see here is the actual keyfob...just offering ways I know of how to unlock your pickup after new battery..you are the one that asked for help.

It did nothing, unhooked battery again and will try in about 20 mins. Just plastic surrounded in there where fob fits in. ???

Yup it should just sit in there. Then push button to start. You may need to try all the fobs it came with. Also try unlocking the doors with the key..reason is some vehicles(not saying ford does) have security modules in the door and require the key to be used on the door to unlock the whole security system. Reason for this is if vehcile is stolen and stripped for parts..they try and use modules in all parts. This is more related to German cars but you never know if Ford or American vehicles did this. Did you have any vehicle theft protection installed when the truck was purchased? Dealer may have sold this and installed before you took ownership

When plugging battery back in do the battery reset..male sure the battery light blinks when doing this. I believe it will blink 3 times. Then try the keyfob and push button start.

This sounds exactly like my wife’s it would do nothing when put in the council. I would have never figured out the fuse it was it was a 60 amp if I remember right

Well Checked the BCM fuse and looks good. Unlocked door with key, went thru the lights and brake thing again, and both Fobs in console, still got zero. Beyond my little pea brain knowledge.

Dumb question, but have you YouTube'd the issue with your exact year/model in the search? You might be surprised if you haven't....

In my unheated shop, used Thurs for pheasant hunting, never fought any snow or anything whatsoever. Would not start Friday, got it going somehow and then replaced battery. Started right up after replacement and used it for about 20 mins not shutting it off. Wouldn't start again yesterday morning , and that's the story.

My 2018 3.5 Ecoboost did the samething, it was the starter. I crawled under it and wife hit the key as I rapped on the starter. Worked great. I did replace the starter.
