Flow-Through Suppressor??

I've got a 6.5 and a couple of .30Cal cans. I can't say backpressure from the ejection port or general cycling of my AR's has been a problem.

I picked up a B&T 5.56 suppressor WITHOUT their reduced backpressure design and immediately realized what everyone was referencing regarding gas in their face etc.

I'm going to use the 5.56 suppressor on a few different bolt-actions so that one has some homes.

I'm wondering if I'm missing something running the 6.5 or .30 cal cans on my .224 AR's? Would a flow/through give me something the 6.5/.30 don't?

The larger cans will have slightly less back pressure just due to bore size. It also depends on the design of the baffles / internals, but I'm surprised you were not put off by the 30 and 6.5 cans on ARs. I've always had to use an adjustable gas block to tune them properly, and even then, the receiver / BCG gets filthy quick.
I picked up a Huxworx 30 cal a couple years ago, and it made a huge difference in those aspects. It is louder than my other cans, so there's the tradeoff. However, I believe their newest model, the Flow, meters similar to traditional baffle stack designs, while still being flow-through.

I have a TBAC Ultra 5 gen 2 .30, A Scythe Ti w/.224 bravo endcap, and a Q Jumbo shrimp 6.5. On 16” AR’s they seem to work pretty good. I do have an H2 buffer in one AR and the other is a Q Sugar Weasel that works better w/can than without outta the box.

Father in law has a 16” Bushmaster of some sort and I tried the Ultra 5 and it worked fine. That’s the one that REALLY over gassed w/B&T Print-X Ti. The B&T will stay on bolt-actions.

Well, they all "work", but on ARs, traditional cans will often:
- Make everything filthy quick - especially brass*
- Change your ejection - sometimes to the point of malfunction**
- Increase the action cycling recoil pulse
- Increase the "gas in your face"
- Beat on your BCG

* Before I got the Huxworx, I had to go to wet tumbling my 6 Creed brass. Dry tumbling wouldn't get it clean.

** I have a buddy that had an AR in 556 that ran fine. Then he got a suppressor, and it started jamming. We put an adjustable gas block on and tuned the gas. Now it's fine again. IMO, adjustable gas blocks are a requirement when you mix ARs and suppressors. They can minimize most of the above issues (except the filth), but if you want to actually fix / avoid them, you need a flow-through can.

I find "Q" stuff to be overpriced with cheesy marketing, and if you ever come across the founder / owner guy (Kevin-something) on any gun forums, you would avoid Q entirely. "Abrasive" and "Narcissist" are some of the kinder descriptors that come to mind...

But Kevin is fixing everything that is wrong with the gun industry designs and what we all think we know. He is the savior we all didn't know we need, just ask him and I'm sure he would be more than happy to explain everything to you.
I watched the factory tour that Classic Firearms did a while back, pretty interesting but man if you are paying attention Kevin is on the arrogant side and the Classic guys, well lets just say I'm guessing they were using lots of chapstick later. Have also watched or listened to a few different media releases he has done and not sure what I really think of him, his response to the 338 ARC seemed petty to me. Q makes good products no doubt about it, question is are they worth the price they are asking? Obviously people are willing to buy things so good for him, part of the beauty of living in Capitalism I guess.

I have zero concerns spending money on firearms. The “for the money…” phrase isn’t in my vocabulary. Mind you this isn’t because I toss rolls of Benjis in the fire place for warmth.

The Shoot2Hunt/Unknown Munitions guys are coming out with an over the barrel suppressor that sounds interesting. If you listen to them talk about it a person can look at them 2 ways between informative and filling a need in the market or we are fixing what is wrong with the market and doing it better than everyone before us.
For the most part there are so many hunting and shooting products out there right now that are such good quality most people almost can't go wrong.
I'm going to get the Banish Meateater because I like the idea of the brake adjustment and think it might let me get by on my daughters 6.5 Grendel AR without the adjustable gas block, if not then I will get a new block, probably going to get the Banish 30 as well. Before people start telling me to check out this or that I am going to Silencer Central because I won 2 suppressors at out SCI banquet, they were for the 22 can's but can be upgraded to any other Banish model for the price difference.

The Sugar Weasel was on a pretty good “add to cart” sale @ EuroOptics. I also bought a Mini-Fix in 16” 223 used from Cabelas and was able to trade off a few things I wasn’t using and didn’t plan to use in the future. Mini-Fix was originally going to be a bolt-action option for use w/thermal. But, the little SOB grew on me and gets a fair amount of “truck time” w/standard scope now.
