I was back at my camper when that blew through Saturday but it was nasty. Easily gusting at 50+ MPH.
Sick days Wednesday and Thursday huh......look at that forecast my god no fn wind.

Sounds like a couple boats were lost out at Devils Lake when it got nasty.

As i am sure you have heard from me before -- SPRING OVERRATED -- yes if you can take off your days when the weather is nice - but if your a weekend warrior its a shooting match.

Not all of us want to pull spinners at .8-1.2 mph in 11 FOW every time we go in a boat. I'll battle weather. There's a reason I have ski goggles in my boat. I do agree with you on the weekend statement though. The last two years have been awful. Beautiful Tuesday and Wednesday, garbage every other day.

Spring is when I pitch plastics. If it weren't for that, my fishing would not be so satisfying. Hit a small lake sat am that fishes just like dl in spring. Most fun I have had since this same timeframe last year

I probably didnt pull a spinner until i was in my mid 30s, before then jigs all had skirts, spinners were part of a lure and plastics were the bulk of our tackle, never purchased live bait. Never really paid attention to weather except for lightening; fished a few big big lakes but generally small lakes.

When i say spring is overrated -- i am pointing strickly to weather and the big 3 in North Dakota --- weather can be a bitch. Saturday in MN was great -- it wouldnt of been on DL. Friends that ask when a good time is to go up to DL I usually make the same comment as Jason Mitchell does -- come up in July and August. Even the fall is better weather wise then the spring imo. Yes you can always get out of the wind.

When your buddies wife shows up in shorts last weekend -- then its time to go to the bar.

Blow weekends are never any fun. Its all about expectations - if your prepared on what to expect then it works. The last think i want to do is battle a boat or wreck one

Good fishn, Short

The guides love July as they can limit out on dinks in the morning and either be done early or take a 2nd crew out later thus doubling their take.

Went out to Idaho to visit my brother last week. My typical luck bucked the wind going out and bucked it coming back. I am long overdue to have the wind at my back.
