Looking for reviews of Westlie Ford in Minot. I am done with the local dealer in Williston. Hate to drive 2 hours for service but at this point I will.

Thanks.

To be honest, I haven't had very good luck with Westlie's. Eide/Bill Barth in Mandan was a lot better for us

Eide in Bismarck is always at least 1-2 weeks out to schedule an oil change. Apparently driving one off their lot doesn't help.

nah -they have a quick lane just like luther.

But it does take 2 3 weeks if you have somethin wrong. Which really sucks imo

Williston and Minot, Bismarck, they are high because of the oil field, head East to Fargo and save more

I won’t deal with Westlie ever again. Several bad customer experiences. I live in Minot, but buy my trucks at Luther in Fargo.

In the Fargo area what I have gone to with my personal rigs that need work that I don't want to or can't do efficiently myself and all the stuff on my work rigs like regular maintenance or repairs is found a privately owned shop that can work on anything. Corwin screwed me too many times between my work truck for the company I work for and some of my personal stuff. I say find what you want to buy and get it from wherever you want then go support a local shop, the only thing that you might still have to use the dealer for is warranty work and maybe a couple rare specialty things

This, I'll never have service work done at a dealership unless it's warranty work.

Except for warranty work, there is no need to go to the dealer for service/repairs. It does not affect warranty on the vehicle. You have the right to repair anywhere. Just make sure to keep records in the event there is a warranty issue. I manage an independent shop in Fargo. I second that you should find an independant. Ask all the questions. What work can they not do? What kind of parts do they use and why? Do they have the ability to program if need be? A good independent can and will answer any and all questions. If not, find another independant.

the only thing one can buy now is a used tundra --- all the others including the new trundras suck. Chevy deactavation shit is just that along with lifters.
Tundra Mileage is pure shit . Good friend got rid of his with only 40k because of the 11 mpg.
Golf buddies wife drives theirs back and forth for work at 8.7 mpg. Also looking to trade it in.

Damn nice trucks otherwise.

They must hammer the gas i average 15 on the high way and 12 pulling enclosed trailer. I have a leveling kit and bigger tires on it I know 5 other people and its all around that 14-15 mpg on the high way. That and if i worried about millage i would by a prius

I hear ya Kurt, don't really know why they get such mileage. I know golf buds wife kinda likes jackrabbit starts which I'm sure doesn't help in town driving.
Other bud mainly for hunting around here and pulled sided car trailer to Colorado elk hunting. Said never again. His was a 2014

Thanks for the replies.

Local shops could be a good alternative after warranty. Until then I am tied to the dealer.

You are only tied if a repair is deemed warranty repair or recall. everything else from oil/fluid changes, spark plugs, U-joints, etc look for a private shop. A good one will diagnose and let you know if it might be something that needs to go to the dealer for warranty. Private shops love taking work from dealerships, what I would do is go talk to a shop or two especially if you know anyone that has had good experiences with them and just go in and talk to them. Let then know what your not happy about with your current service situation and make/let them sell you on how they will treat you better. back when I switched I only kept going to the dealership because I knew I was getting an new work truck soon so I let Corwin hang themselves more, when my new work truck arrived the first oil change and tire rotation I went straight to Elite Auto with it and have been going ever since as well as most of our other company trucks, it does help that they moved closer to us too
Free market competition can be a good thing.

I wish we had a Ford shop like Sioux Falls. Their shop is built like a hospital for pickups and they were awesome when the brand new F150 went into limp mode with 3k miles on it.

I'm sure Sioux Falls locals have gripes but that place is miles ahead of what we have in Bismarck for facility and personnel.
