Wife had a Minnie dash hound that if you put a minnow in a qt. jar and sat it on the floor she was entertained until the fish died. Licked the jar non-stop.

If you've got 75 gallons to work with, get yourself a snapping turtle. No matter how small they are when you get them and how long you have them, they never tame. It's like keeping a slow, angry dinosaur. Fast as hell when they're eating.

My buddy said when he dies, he doesn't want to be buried or cremated, he wants to be eaten by his turtle.

aquarium snappers develop gorgeous shell colors/patterns - really spectacular under correct lighting

sorta like this but really intense under certain hood lighting

When I was a kid we'd keep some during the summer months. Had perch, bluegill, bullheads and even a 8" pike at one time. Was fun feeding them.

We also had snails, crawfish, leeches, minnows, plants, etc. along with a good charcoal filtration system to keep the tank clean and diverse.

Buddy in college had a large tank in his house with bluegills. The after bar closing parties at his house usually included sitting on the couch and breaking out the long bamboo poles with barbless hooks and a little white piece of cloth on it. The lips on those poor fish must have been like mesh.

The kid's swimming pool works good as a tank for dinosaurs.

Actually common snappers get pretty tame in captivity if you pay attention to them.

Those Green Sunfish are the best IMO. They are aggressive, and don't get too big. Oscar's are boring I like the Native fish better. Plus add a big crawdad or two. They are funny when the catch a minnow. Plus its cool watching them molt. Creek chubs eat minnows also and I like them in there as well.

This is a longear sunfish.
