I have a 9' x 16' garage door and the high winds have did there work on it, bowing in the middle, creases on the outside panels. Is there any thing or place to buy something that would sturdy this up? Insurance is giving me a claim for a new door but I don't see the point if I can't do anything to keep the door more sturdy.

There are "v" shaped braces you can attach to the back of the door panels that will help. you may need to add a brace per door section. They sell them at most home centers. Good Luck

Is your current door insulated? I would think just having insulated panels would solve that problem. That or a better quality door that uses thicker sheet metal.

This. Ive done the same with strategically placed flat and angel iron. Now if I could only stop the kids from beating the shit out of it with basketballs.....

Be careful adding to much weight to the door. The springs are only made to handle what the door weighs from the factory. Adding to much will result in operator not lasting as long. If no operator is installed the door may not stay in the open position with the added weight.

That size door should have had three supports. Bottom of bottom panel, tip of bottom panel and in window panel. If no window panel then somewhere near the middle

Is this a premium double steel sided garage door? There is a huge difference in garage doors and the higher quality ones are much stronger. I don’t see how wind could bend my garage door unless it was over 100 mph

Yep, should be bent metal struts running the length of the panel riveted or screwed to the vertical stiles. If not I'd contact a local manufacturer or door installer. You could contact Midland Garage Door in West Fargo if no other option available.

Struts are a big benefit when you have a double size door. I would recommend those from the manufacturer of the door. Reason? Different doors may not have the vertical supports in the same placement. With insulated doors you can not always see the vertical supports, kind of like wall studs. If you don't screw, or attach, the struts into a vertical support you don't have much strength attaching to the sheet metal covering the insulation. When installing my last door I put a strut on each panel. Might be overkill but it works.
