Anyone run Garmin Electronics? I have always been impressed with the sharpness of the demo units at the store but have never seen one run in the real world. Cabelas has a descent sale on some of the older units right now. They also have Quickdraw, which is their version of autochart live. Just trying to save a buck.

Thanks for replying. Do you mind me asking which unit you run? Do you use the preloaded maps and the quickdraw? How does the downvu/sidevu compare to the other industry giants? The panoptics looks really cool, but that's another grand my wife won't let me spend. I started looking at the Garmins yesterday because there is a sale on last year's models and she won't let me get a new humminbird mega 10.

I have an echo70 DV. The DV is awesome. just as good as the lowrance my kid runs. The ease of use is amazing. I dumped my lowrance for it and am glad I did. The preloaded maps are all you need.

That sounds like what I am looking for. The non chirp side image 7 inch is on sale for 500 and the chirp last year model is going for 640.
