That was a good Video, has anyone tried this ? It left me wondering what kind of dried /salted meat that Mom and Dad used to make when I was a baby. It might have been mutton or venison because I remember seeing full front and hind quarters hanging and they weren't that big. Other than that all I remember about it is that it was way too salty so a small slice went a long way. jerky with no other flavor than salty salt flavor but I still liked it. I like to tinker with food preservation from the olden days before electricity hit the hills.

I had a deer ham in mind and a heated garage project. When Uncle Ted had his meat venture in the early 00's I thought his pemmican was good. Never tried the biltong.

Can't find an image. He used to "ride" all his meat.

Solar dehydrators work so good this time of the year but jack frost and his cold days come about the same time deer season , I know sun dried jerky would be delicious and easy to make in big batches. I crave jerky right now so bad my mouth is watering but all I have is leather britches AKA dried string beans. They are good too but I crave meat 24/7/365 .

I don't know why the hell you'd have to use coriander. Why couldn't you use Tatonka Dust etc?

I must have missed that post .
Pour can or jar of green beans in a pot
Add two pats of butter and two strips of bacon
Boil covered until the lid begins to vent
Lower heat/remove cover
Boil off remaining liquid stirring occasionally/don't allow scorching
Discard bacon/enjoy

I’m sorry, did you just use the phrase discard bacon followed by enjoy. Calling guywhoknowsthings to determine what level of blasphemy was just uttered

This discourse occurred the first time I posted this. I find it hurtful. NDA is my safe space. Trust me when this is done, the gray substance could not be considered bacon. It's a bacon corpse which gave up it's soul for the greater good of the sidedish. Let's try to coexist.

I felt it needed to be reiterated….for effect

Full disclosure: It's a good nipple emolient. Think of my nipples when you eat gray bacon.
