Anybody else not got their tag in the mail yet?

Ordered a new one on August 16 and it still hasn't showed up.contacted the game and fish and they said that they have had a few reports of missing tags ordered that day. Was told to contact my local warden to get a replacement tag

I agree cool looking little bird. Looks like a ruffed grouse crossed with a sparrow.

What is it?

After 3 fairly hard days of sitting in a blind and calling a few big deer within 200 yards or so which is wayyyyyy out of my limits. Everybody and their brother is up for the weekend now roaring around on their 4 wheelers, razors and every other thing.

I'm pretty limited in mobility as some of you know and I'm depending on help to get in the field and back and forth to blinds I realized this year a big deer was not in the cards. SO I decided to shoot one for meat for the freezer.

My buddy and I decided to stop for a quick try to call one in on the way to lunch. There we were no camo on, just sitting and calling enjoying a few minutes in the woods on the way to lunch. He called in a nice spike and I shot him at 92 yards. You guys will probably laugh and thats fine, he's going to taste great. He's a 6x4 mule deer, that is to say 6" on one side and 4" on the other. :;:smokin

Awesome 2400. I’d probably sit around getting drunk feeling sorry for myself - while you, on the other hand, adventured!

2400, I would take one of your 6x4's any day of the week. Antlers don't eat worth a shit anyway. Can't ask for much more than a good hunt and a clean kill

Tats all tender loin. Nothing wrong with that.

Thanks for the kind words guys, it means a lot to me.

It was really good to get outside for a change. After a while you forget how good it is just to be sitting out in the middle of nowhere and watching the world go by.

I wish all you guys out there hunting a great hunt and memories forever.
