Good tubing lakes

I have joined the ranks of boat owners! I came across a deal too good to pass up on a Lund Tyee. I am curious on what folks would recommend for nice lakes to take the kids tubing relatively close to Bismarck. Thanks for the help!

Nelson Lake is heated. Probably would get busy on a weekend. Don't eat any fish.

we usually tube on the river, down around the dessert area, its plenty wide down there... new Johns is nice also, but gets kinda green around this time of year.

If the kids are happy, momma's happy. if momma's happy, Im happy. I enjoy dragging the kids around on the tube when its hot as hell out. They have a blast!

Lapper, get yourself a booster ball rope for pulling to keep the rope out of the water. Makes for a sucky ride if the rope is dragging and splashing so much water in there faces they cant even see. Also helps to get the tube out of the wake. something like this

Everything is about an hour. Beaver Bay is a great place to tube/ski. Well protected from unnecessary winds, etc.

I'd honestly just go to Sak, Audobon, Oahe. They all have plenty of space. You get to the smaller recreational lakes on the weekend and it can be a cluster!

The last time I pulled someone on a tube, I accidentally turned the corner next to cat tails.......... Worse part was she rolled to her back.. I don't do the tubing thing any more.
