You need some sort of planing device attached to the rope that goes under the boat. It'll keep the rope from getting rubbed through and keep the bags planted deeper.

The Buggy Bags are tough from what I have seen. I never seem to get the boat on the water early spring here like I did on Erie.

I'm not visualizing the weed trimmer. Are you talking about something sharp that will trim underwater weeds or something off of a regular weed trimmer that will help with the planing?

OK, that was what I thought after thinking. Seems like it might rust, and scratch stuff, and cut people beer trolling.

Might be able to use planer boards or something similar attached such that they pull the cross-rope down, maybe attached just inboard of the bags?

the rope in actuality is located near the deepest part of the keel - keeping bags inflated is not going to be a problem. I'll take HDS screen-grap pics with my camera when MN lakes open up.

if they don't inflate (plenty of guys use this approach already and I've not read anybody mention this is a problem) a guy could put a stand-off device on the rope right where the bags are - but I highly doubt it'll be needed

even if they only 2/3 inflate (the part of the bag that is away from the keel) that will be plenty IMO

In a thread entitled guywhotrolls someone puts some comments clearly meant to "troll" but at the same time not thinking anyone would actually be stupid enough to bite...............apparently I am the only one that can appreciate the "irony".

Back in the day we called it sarcasm, being a smart ass ect.....now I guess it is "trolling" and it hurts peoples feelings and is a terrible thing.

I guess I never thought anyone would actually jump on talking about tiling or draining or the RRV being a wildlife wasteland nor did I think anyone would make an issue out of it.

I guess I was wrong.
