HB1237 All Season NR Upland

This one does away with the 7 and 14 day non-resident small game/upland licenses and makes them good for all season.

Hell No! for me on this one. I could imagine dog trainers and other guys living out of campers and hanging around for months. The Southeast part of the state will get hit hard by Minnesotans every weekend. Access and habitat are declining, and they want to add more pressure?

I agree, NW ND was absolutely overrun with non resident hunters this year. Second weekend of season saw 4 groups of NR hunters walk a plots quarter in the 2 hrs I was in the area. This is in a mediocre pheasant area. Before this year we see 1 or 2 groups a season, one day this year we saw 18 out of state vehicles hunting pheasant.

The apartment building I live in during the week for work out west had 2 apartments of non residents in it from Oct-Dec. New groups would come in every week. Groups usually ranged from 8-12 guys. All hunting pheasants in NW corner. Would usually see them cleaning birds at noon when I was back for lunch. Then they would be gone again till sun down. Seemed crazy to me!!!

I'm sure you do so much to boost the habitat and bird #'s that you don't want any competition. I'm a nonresident and purchased 3 upland license in 2024. Doesn't matter to me, I will just buy more license.

Sounds like the system works the way it should then……..If habitat and access are what the new focus is( as it should be) this would not be a good idea.
