My dad, who was not a big man, but apparently had physics figured out could do this with ease...me, not so much, so I was the stacker.
Same for me. Dad would lift the bale with a fork and hold it up at arms length and I would climb down and take it off the fork and carry it up to the highest tier on the hay wagon while he went to lift another one. I don't know how many tiers high we went but I know I had to hang on the side of the load when we went under the power line across our driveway because there wasn't room between the power line and the top tier for me to lay on the top and not hit the line. Yeah, good times.

Back in those days you never messed with the old man, my younger brother found out the hard way. What happened to him was right out of MMA. LB

Same my friend, but it was with the Allis-Chalmers mini rounds. Lots of time behind the bale hooks for this guy.

MOPP 4 in the desert sucks

BAD!

Never had the pleasure to be so dressed in the deserts of the planet. However, I can tell you with great certainty that one would lose 10-15+ lbs of water in just a couple hours of moderate activity in MOPP Level 4 gear in Alabama, Philippines, Thailand, and Japan during their warm seasons. I can't even count the number of Jarheads I've watched go down to heat exhaustion (none quite got to heat stroke concerns). I was always able to manage my own through conditioning and proper prep (hydration), but after lengthy exercises you would need some down time to recover.
