My old man was trying to get an old side delivery rake spring off about 10 years ago and got pissed off and smacked it with a big hammer . Needless to say that's not the way to go . It snapped off and went thru his eye lid and thru the white of his eye . Took him 35 miles to Pierre and they wouldn't touch it , made him go to Rapid City . Offered to medivac him but he was to tight for that so we drove the 165 miles . The sound he made when we hit every road splice , patch or anything still haunts me to this day . They took it out , wore a patch for a few months and still has 20-20 to this day at 84 . Funny thing is now if he see's you working on anything you get an ass chewing if you don't have on goggles , gloves and hearing protection . This from the guy that used to fill the tractor gas tank straight from the fuel truck , tractor still running , manifold red hot . Guess you can teach an old dog new tricks .
Here I was going to tell the story of me and a buddy fishing the race, when I felt the tell tail hit of a fish inhaling my jig. I looked at him and said "Dame there's a fish" before he watched me set the hook, and the thing didn't budge. He looked at me and said "your snagged" until he seen the rod tip doing the slow jerking motion of a big fish. When I get the fish up he said "Dame you were right. 7lb eye :;:rockit Then I open this up and about;:;barf
