Gents, just wondering what guys are running on their summer hotrods, I'm due for a new set of MT drag radials but am thinking of running a different tire this year since I only get one season per year with my beast and there has to be better out there. I put around 3000 hard miles per year on this car just waiting for the bottom end to cut loose but it hasn't happened yet. Kinda wish it would happen, an LS is going in next!

I run Nitto NT555R on rear, great traction. 69 Dodge Dart, 4 speed, small block 340, stroked to 416.

Can't help on the tire situation but why in the world would you wreck that car with an LS engine? Yeh, they make cheap power and they're readily available but there's plenty of ways to keep that car as it should be with a Ford powerplant and make as much power as it can handle. a 347 or 408 stroker both make plenty of power and would look the part under the hood. if you want modern and have some coin a new 5.0 coyote crate would give you a nice platform.......

It has a 347 in it now with a T56, normally I wouldn't dream of molesting a Mustang like that but there isn't anything left to do with it except maybe go with a 2 litre whipple or stab an LS in it. It runs mid 11's already so it's hot, loud and obnoxious, just wanted to keep the power and make it more streetable.

I know see your dilemma. I would a say a low compression coyote 5.0 with a blower would be in order..... get out the Check Book, lol!

What size rims and rear tire? I run 225's in front and 245's in the rear on 16" rims to keep a little bit of a sidewall to negate the stiff suspension I'm kind of limited unless I go with bigger rims and that's not gonna happen.

This thread has potential... someone needs to start a thread specifically dedicated to classic cars. LOVE EM!

She isn't super fast but big as hell and so comfy. I am a sucker for huge cars with cool lines. I saved her from an slow death. She had been sitting 7 years and all original but the wheels. Shes got the good 460 and some long legs and I drive it quite a bit.
