How far can Paddlefish travel

Came across this article over my lunch. A guy shot a paddlefish on their bow fishing trip in Kentucky and it had a tag in its lip from South Dakota in 2023.

Around 8-9yrs ago the wife and I did a catfish trip with our own Captain Brad and the second day was my birthday (it was kind of a combined birthday gift to us beings my wife is 5 days later). Anyways at supper after we got done with the evening fishing she asked what I was hoping for the next day. I said I would like to see a 20lb + Cat and it would be awesome to get a tagged fish, she had never heard of a tagged fish before. Anyways 2-3 fish in the next morning and she pulled a tagged catfish and after Brad did looked up the tag# it turned out that it was tagged July 27th 2015 in Lockport, MB and to make it better Brad is the person who did the tagging. Also later that day my wife pulled in at 23# Catfish, our biggest of the day. I guess I said I wanted to see a 20# + and a tagged fish but never said I wanted to be the one to be on the rod.
It just goes to show what these studies can teach us sometimes.

Wish they did more walleye tagging on the red, it would be cool to see how far some fish travel during the spawn
