Humminbird 899 Question

Looking to see if any of you have had this problem with your depth finders. Went fishing yesterday and when I turned on the finder, the 4 way control key light up, but the screen was blank. The unit won't power off, unless I cut the power to the unit. I was wondering if this has happened to any of you before and if so how you fixed it. Thanks

Thanks NM 24. I've gone thru these methods with no change on screen.

Have had mine freeze up like that and only fix was to cut the power to it and it basically reboots.

I've got one that does that occasionally when I start the main motor. I guess I just figured there's a bit of corrosion somewhere I haven't tracked down yet.
