Was out today on a smaller shallow south Central lake and there was a nice 6" everywhere checked. Picked up a few perch but was slow. Manages one just over 12" for the early ice contest

Buddy was down on main lake oahe and reported 5 inches but only one bite.

Could be ....I just figured all the fish were up at the protest site being water protectors of course. plus those fish eating lesbians need something to eat with all the bever now off taking their winter nap!

Buddy and I went to Audubon today...Nelson Bay, drilled the first hole about 1PM...off the ice about 5. Caught a nice perch, had lot's of hits...missed a few fish...gotta get used to setting the hook again with ice rods! Ice very solid...had 7 to 8 inches where we were at...no issues at all. Access no problem, guessing there were about 15 trucks parked along the road. Not a bad first day on the ice...little buddy heater came in handy today!

Confirming what SeisMec said in his reports a good 6-8 inches at Sweet Briar and 8" at Crown Butte. Tiny perch and bluegill were biting good and even a few 12"-14" Rainbows at Crown Butte.

Hit a small lake in central nodak. Walked across the lake checking ice, was a solid 6-8" the whole way. Ended up with one healthy 23" eye and a couple small ones. They weren't very active at all. Might try somewhere else tomorrow.

2 wheelhouses on the ice this evening at Tobacco Gardens, that did not take long

I hit Brekken, Crooked and Audobon yesterday. All had about 8" of ice. Several small perch and several small eyes. One big pike wrapped us all up and then spat my hook at crooked. It was great to be out!

I drove around Metigoshe and saw tracks where 3 or 4 snowmobiles had crossed south lake and 3 portable walking crews. How much snow on the ice down there ?

This fluffy snow up here has a lot of R-value, I cleaned out the yard with the tractor today and had to be careful not to dig into the grass.
