The bite has been really good all year. Plenty of 14 to 18-inch fish with a few hogs everytime I've been out this year. I have found that in January and February on the East side the fish like to move deeper and have always done well deep during that time. 15 feet to 24 feet is the good range. doesn't mean that they aren't shallow, west side of the lake they are biting shallower. Same baits and tactics, Jigs and minnows, flutter spoons and rattle baits. Here's my video from last week got 45 walleye in a day and a few hogs to go along.

If anyone has been recently let's hear how you did !! :)

It's official. I've quit caring about work for the rest of the week. Friday can't come soon enough.

Fished up there for the day on Friday, did very well. 5 guys caught 100+ fish and 6 over 25".
Like he said, fished shallower water like 13-14 fow. Have a dead stick right next to your jigging
hole and away you go!

Where did you put on the lake Woodpecker ?
prudence twice and left from casino once

To me it was 6 of one half dozen of the other to which was best. Hit the lake at Prudence and it's about 4 mph (might even be too fast) for a good mile plus. Leave from the Casino and it's not as rough, but still fairly rough and adds miles. The Casino route was a lot rougher Saturday night than it was that morning due to the snow melt.

I am headed up on Thursday with a couple guys, has anyone been up there recently? Been seeing some reports where the bigger ones have started moving in, otherwise mainly eaters.

the least we found 2 weeks ago was about 16" probably 2 miles out from the mouth of the red. along several ridges need an extension.

Guys are driving pickups all over. Is is really rough but it's in the neighborhood of 24" thick. There is snow on it and it's rock hard. If you get stuck God help you. No really prominent pressure ridges.
