Thinking about making the switch over to lithium. I put three new group 31 in last year, but I'm getting tired of the weight. For those that have been running these for a while now, how are they holding up? Lots of different brands out there, but I'm kind of leaning toward the Li Time or Ionic. I'd really like a single 36v battery, but would like more than 50-60AH.

Holding up well, just bought their 165 ah dual purpose and a regular 165 ah as well. Li time that is. Watt Cycle batteries test out really well also, built allot better than most and reasonable.

I was a cheapskate and put in some Amazon specials, TechCella, but I did do some research beforehand, and was satisfied with what I found.

Only a year in, but so far so good.

Which TechCella did you go with?

Is anybody using a Lithium as a dedicated cranking battery? if so what battery and what engine do you have it tie to (manufacture, model, hp)?

I have been contemplating the switch to Lithium's on my last boat which I never did and then again have been considering it on the current boat. Currently running two 31 series AGM house and Starting batteries along with 3 flooded wet cells for the TM. Would love to get rid of the weight. Dealer tells me they have been sticking with the AGM for the starting battery and have said that if I switch everything and keep my AGM starting battery I need to remove the isolator between the main battery and the house battery? Wondering if the situation is the same if I went with a lithium my dedicated starting battery for the V10 Verado? I have seen that mercury has it approved to use a lithium buy only their in house Relion brand. Since I have a Ulterra Quest, I'd stick with 3 separate TM batteries since that'll run on 36V or 24V. For those running a lithium as your starting battery, I'd like to here your experience.

I went with with this 165ah dual purpose Li time battery. I was apprehensive about it for my 300 verado but after talking with Li time they say the new BMS in these took care of the older ones alternator issues. I sure the heck hope so! Would have kept using my agm but was told that I needed to be extremely careful running both types especially with that power/jump switch in the back of my boat. So I decided to just run 5 lithiums.

I picked up the same dual purpose battery this spring after having incredible results with the regular 165AH on my TM.

Granted, I only run a 16.5' Lund tiller, but I wanted to be able to go on a weekend adventure without needing power and I've easily accomplished that now... I've been able to run nearly 5 12hr days in a row with the 165AH battery on my TM. I'm still a little leary about the dual purpose battery but she'll be put to the test real soon!

LiTime has been worth every penny, 10x over, in my upgrades.
