Cool find and I see a few of those hitting the drink in the near future out of my boat. I have a 2.5 yo that likes reeling in fish, however looks like the rod is going to be dropped at any moment.

Has anyone come up with a good solution to this? Floating rods? tying it to side of boat? leash from rod to kid?

I tied the rod to a rod holder mount with a length of thin nylon rope when my kids were younger. It save a rod or two and didn't hamper them reeling in fish.
