I'm pretty sure the issue was taxation without representation, not tariffs on tea. However it's been a long time since my third grade teacher taught us that, so I may be a little fuzzy on my history.

They were actually called import duties from what i understand. Basically taxes on in imports....tariffs for the most part. There was more to it then just this that caused the revelution so like all liberal shit...its misleading. But for them its the ammo they got so they go with it.
