Did you ever get Barnes LRX's to work? I never got the .264 127gr to work in my 6.5-284 Norma but this past year got a good load for my 7mm RM with 145gr LRX.
Hammer bullets have some interesting options out that I keep thinking about trying
I shoot the 127 in my 6.5 creed. They shoot ok….3/4 to 1 moa to 300. I have not pushed them further nor have I played with it much.

Haven’t tried them in the 264. The 156 Bergers shot so well in it I didn’t mess with them

Guy would have to probably wear a football helmet when shooting that combo. My eye socket aches just thinking about it
Actually it’s not bad suppressed. I use to shoot it with a break and needed to wear double ear protection and it still wasn’t that enjoyable of an experience.

I started off deer hunting with an ancient 30-06 that my dad put in my hands. It kicked like a mule to a skinny 14 year old boy. Two seasons later I read about a 270 in Outdoor Life, saved up my money and bought one. It has killed countless deer and a total of 6 different species of North American game. I now own plenty of other guns, but that is still my go to in a pinch.

A 270 will kill a Deer just has fast. You shoot them behind the shoulder that Deer does not know the difference with a .277 or .308. I will take the 270 any day of the week.

I have a 300 Lazzeroni Warbird so I have a big 30 caliber, plus a 300 Wby and 300 Winchester and a 300 Blackout.
So would my 6.5 but this is way more fun at 500+ in the right conditions in Montana. Bear to carry around. Not saying it’s the best choice but was handed down to me from my uncle and he told me he didn’t want it sitting in a display in the house and to use it. So I use it.

If I was buying a new one I’d have a hard time not looking at the 7mm options from seekins.

Back in the 70's I bought a Rem 270 ADL for 150 from a drunk in a local bar. Still my go to for open range white tail. Got my money's worth over time. LB

The .264 WM was the only gun I sold that I regret. I should have never sold it, but was chasing the "new technology" at the time and purchased a 270 WSM. Poor decision. Have since moved to a 6.5PRC. Best gun I have owned....

I despise muzzle brakes. I had a custom 300prc built with a 26"barrel for performance, with the sole intentions of using it braked instead of suppressed. Worst thing I ever did. I need to find a smith that is capable and willing to shorten a carbon fiber barrel.

After that I would probably need to shop for a new " light hunting" suppressor. Don't think the Scythe Ti would survive very long on a 20" 300prc....second worst thing I've done.

Soo….what about what I shoot which is a 30-378? #notrackingrequired 🤣
I have one and named her Thor "God of Thunder". It's an absolute beast of a caliber and will take care of anything on this continent.
My 30-378 had a muzzle break so recoil isn't bad. If you shot it more than five times, it gives you a headache from the concussion.

Love that round in this little mountain rifles Inc rig!

Between the lightweight package, significant recoil, and those triple extra-stupid extendo-bases I bet a high-speed camera would show that scope doing "The Worm" during recoil. .585" case-heads in a 700 platform aren't my favorite combo either.

Buddy is using that projectile in a 22" 1:8 NULA 223. ~2850fps w/Lever and WSR's in Lapua hulls.

Just realized that deer season starts a week from tomorrow. If I don't get my backside in gear, load some ammo and verify zero w/the suppressor on board my 270, I'm gonna be deer hunting w/the 22Creed and 75 A-max's.

Where'd the time go????

I need to verify the Grendel for the kids again and probably whip up some more rounds. Probably better double check that 257 Wby (with muzzle brake)just in case the one daughter want to shoot it instead of sisters gun.

Did you shoot shotguns when you were 14----- we would load 3" lead with max velocity that we could (some over). The recoil was on par or even greater. Fall would come and if it was nice you had a black and blue armpit most of sept oct with waterfowl and then Pheasant Deer season came and my shoulder said thank you.

PS somebody had a 50 cal --- i have told this story on here before --- out at the range and he let my kid shoot it. My kid was probably 13-14. He sits down no flinch boom.. I know they dont kick much - but he could of cared less that was the last thing on his mind he wanted to see the bowling pin that he shattered down range.

Its just like a shorthair --- if you have mindset of the shot and target and thats its period. If your scared and flinching then you were not socialized properly with a gun. My 1st shorthair at 9 weeks i was at the gun range i believe so of mandan ---- she is under the bench passed out sleeping hard -- she would here a shot go off and her stub tail wagged yet eyes closed and still sleeping.

Anyone have experience with the Seekins 6.5?
Oh oh 77 year old brain fog. That target should reason 147g ELD-M not ELD-X.

I have the HIT Pro. It's 12 lb but if you can't walk anyway no big deal. My grandson has the 7 PRC and I have the 6.5 PRC. I started out with a Springfid Waypoint with a 22 inch barrel. My 26 inch barrel 6.5 Creedmoor was as fast and my 26 inch barrel 6.5x284 walked over it and my 6.5 PRC with a 24 inch barrel. With a 140 VLD my Creedmoor does 2780 fps. With R26 it does 3052. The 22 inch 6.5 PRC topped out at 2959 and factory was 2870. The 6.5x284 with Retumbo does 3120, but I dropped .5g for better accuracy at 3036 fps. Cold weather is like stepping up to a slower powder and velocity drops bad. I have attached a target for those who may be interested. Chrono with Garmin radar.
