Pure horse manure, and I'm sure they have lots for sale. They are making things worse for themselves instead of better, claiming that this process will provide more licenses to be given out at the end....cmon, man I'm not buying into it...they were faster with manual paper apps back in the day....

Bill Shaller told me that it's due to them checking gratis permits (propery ownership, descriptions, etc.) very carefully - bean by bean - to cut down on fraud/abuse. So it's a good thing... keeps fraudsters from getting tags YOU deserve and want.

I was told by someone at the GNF the same thing about gratis license checking. But was also told it also had to do with verifying addresses of others in the state who have applied, but may have just recently moved here who would not be eligible (non-residents, but claiming residency).

I can attest to this. Land owner I hunt with was pissed because they checked all the addresses and denied tags to his kids (who live next door and work the farm) because they're not on the deed. First time they've ever checked. Now the kids are on the title so no more problems.

I have a farmer buddy who I have hunted with for many years, he filled out his gratis tag for the 10 quarters he farms, of course a section of it is a quarter his, and 3/4 rented land, well he just put the entire sections section, twp, and range on the form. They sent it back to him, as he did not fill out the form correctly.

He was upset so he didn't redo it and send it back in. Now he tells me that no one is hunting his land if the GNF wont even let him hunt his own land...:;:huh So it looks like about 25% of the land I rely on to hunt roosters and deer are going to be off limits to me this year.
As his mistake somehow becomes my problem...:::

Looks like I will fish a bit more this fall

He'll come around. They are actually protecting the sport by getting anal. Rather see that than them allowing any/all BS gratis requests to be granted!

Guy, ummm...birthplace of an "adult" zebra mussel. How do we know it was not born in MN and only recently took up residence in Fargo?

I understand Farhole is the root of most evil, but even it should be given a little benefit of the doubt on this one as MN has an even better track record for trying to screw ND in the world of hunting and fishing.

Hope that's not in the Bismarck area, they busted the last guy who tried to pimp out his wife here.

No pimping, mrs johnr is there for moral support, and conversation. I am not that kind of character, a character yes, but not that kind of character. She is my wife, the mother of my kids, and my friend. Sometimes she is a better salesperson than me, but she isn't selling that....haha
She would be disappointed that I even stated this nonsense.

I was talking to Allen, Enslow, and company who had a beef with my tagline.

NDA, home of the world's greatest tagline critics

excellent...

I knew what you were talking about, and I think I replied correctly. :;:cheers

true - nobody likes a quitter. :(

I one time decided I had enough blue yummies, and made my way back to the camper, of course the general consensus around the campfire was, it was not time to call it quits. So when in haste I did anyway, I was quickly made aware that nobody likes a quitter. It was around day break that we decided quitting was the only rational thing to do. It was a group quit, which turns out is okay.

I am older now, and mildly wiser. So rather than calling it quits I claim to be going to the camper to grab another, then just go to bed. Most times my absence is not noticed until it really no longer matters.

I've used the "I gotta run to the bathroom" trick a few times, but usually I am a fan of "just one more".
