The real threat is waterfowl as presented by Lycanthrope.

No, the real threat is boats and bait coming from infested waters. NDG&F oughta be asking for bait receipts while they're mostly NOT checking for ANS nor extra fish headed east. MN/WI don't have jick-jackettey-squat for waterfowl.

ZM in the desert SW, where 'Sconi snowbirds land a cowinkiedink? I think not.

Really?? I had no idea. Never heard of anyone catching a sucker out of DL. You think they'd be thick in the spring when everything else is running.

I've seen them caught in the upper-basin channels in the spring. I've seen schools of them S of the Casino sunning on sandbars late-spring/early summer.

It ain't the bugs we need to worry about Waggletron. I believe Lycan nailed this...despite the fake bug pics and liberals. Sorry Pluck. I don't believe we're at odds. I need to READ more carefully.

Here's what ND G&F thinks is too hard to do and can be replaced by 2 part-time dock-worker edumacationers:

https://wgfd.wyo.gov/Fishing-and-Boating/Aquatic-Invasive-Species-Prevention/AIS-Boating-Information

http://cpw.state.co.us/thingstodo/Pages/BoatInspection.aspx

http://www.dfw.state.or.us/conservationstrategy/invasive_species/quagga_zebra_mussel.asp

Via the WY G&F website within 6 clicks I can see what WY's plan is to prevent invasive species as well as the plan in CO and OR. Their plans all do require folks to get out of the pickup though so that being the case, we're probably asking too much of ND G&F.

I wouldn't want to at all... Be advised, these rules are easily defeated unless we're willing to gain access like a nuclear area. Are you going to maintain this is total human spread without the assistance of gulls?

How the hell would humans with watercraft spread Asian carp?!!

- - - Updated - - -

Those are disturbing maps Pluck; especially in the SW. WTF?!!

IMHO, this can only be due to birds.

You have to read the details on the red dot legend - represents Zebra / Quagga Mussel Locations
Attached is the latest map with more details for the locations.

That was amusing.

It's interesting to note; the isolated dot in the Hills is precisely where my Homies fight the struggle: Disconcerting.

Here's a 7 pounder from the Mauvais Coulee bridge from last year. I caught my first one 25 years ago at the HWY 20 bridge. Caught a 4 pounder ice fishing in Mission bay.

Also, the suckers are thick at times up by Garske in the spring. That runs into Dry Lake and then down Channel A.

So last weekend in devils lake i was heading to my friends place in the frezon addition early saturday morning during the rain. When i drove past the cleaning station at eds i saw a wisconsin rig emptying their bilge and livewell while unloading fish. I called the warden and they were cited with a ticket. It sounds like lots of tickets are being issued now. I also received a call from the fisheries chief in bismarck and they are interested in hearing what the public would like to suggest for additional precautions for ANS . He said to send an email and then we could arrange a meeting to discuss the situation. I would like to ask people in the NDA community to share questions and ideas so that i can incorporte them into the email and discussion. Please post any ideas or questions regarding ANS on this thread and i will make sure to include them in my communications with the NDGF.

My idea is a requirement for every out of state boat to stop at a point - (weigh stations). They pay a big fee and then the boat gets dowsed in and out with 100% pool shock. Any leaky lunds/trackers get it twice. Then they get a sticker which they put on truck/boat for the number of days that they expect to be in Nodak. If caught w/o sticker then its an automatic keep boat/truck/loomis by the GNF.

Red river users -- license the Red river users boat with a special license that only allows them to use the RR. If they want to pull to devils - they need to go to the Scon shop (weigh station) and get the boat soaked in pool shock.

End of story.

LOL this is pretty much how WY does it. You explanation reminds me of the roadrunner thrust move from the movie Armageddon, not quite perfect but gets the point across!

Ask the WY folks at the I90 check station how ZM head west. They find lots of boat a year coming from infested waters covered in mussels.

Job creation in our great state funded by Sconi money. Win win in my book.

I just watched the vid I posted again. I didn't catch the "spawning discrepancy" the first time. I've read gobies spawn in open water. Vid states shallow and protected: Now I'm sad and perplexed about my previously solid belief.

Will ZM attach to tiger salamanders?

- - - Updated - - -

My point being: If they attach to the insects in the photos designed to scare retards; why not amphibians?

Can they pass though a bird's digestive system unscathed?

Doubtful as every bird I'm familiar with has a gizzard, which grinds everything down. I doubt mussel shells can stand up to acid, rocks, and a strong gizzard. I could be wrong though.

Damn! That'd make some darn nice sumo kitty cut bait. Sounds like the perfect place to stalk with stick and string for the summer channel cat season.
