Still trying to find the right words after they went for it on 4th down, down 10-7 on the road, when there was still 14 minutes left in the game and UNLV was already in the red zone if it failed...What...
Idiotic coaching decisions and 3 interceptions caused the loss. Hayes was forcing it when he didn't have to, hopefully learns from it. Coach needs to realize the oline is not as good as it needs to be and we just can't overpower teams this year like in the past. Can still win the MWC championship and go to a decent bowl game which would be huge accomplishments for the first year in FBS.

Did anyone hear what the coach said about going for it on 4th down in UNLV's red zone?
I couldn't believe he did that and still find it hard to believe. Stupid stupid move.

I'm concerned Grant Olson will leave too, causing defensive players to hit the transfer portal like mad men.

I hate NDSU. But geez, they are 5-1 in their first year and everyone acts like the sky is falling. Calm down...

If they lose the next two, maybe then we can fret, but I wouldn't.

NDSU fans are NEVER happy - win too much, too easy, lose to a FBS school, oh crap, we suck, blah blah blah - unfortunately (or thank god) NDSU will never win a National Championship again, unless the NCAA does another shift in divisions.

100%. UNLV was similar or maybe better physically than NDSU. NDSU was better physically than all their previous opponents. In FBS you aren't just going to overpower everyone. Sometimes an opponent just outplays you and you don't execute real well. The 4th down call was weird, but without it you lose 10-7 instead of 13-7.

They went for a 4th and 1 in FG position earlier and didn't get it. That should have been enough reason not to go for it again on your own 18 yard line. Boneheaded calls cost them at least 3 points and gave UNLV 3 points so could have easily been a tied game. UNLV's offense would have only scored 3 points the entire game!

It's a woulda, coulda, shoulda scenario. We've all made numerous mistakes in our lives and hopefully have learned from them.
I don't recall them playing that quick/fast of a team, (maybe JMU) and they couldn't catch up. My take . . .

Part of being a fan of any sport or school is talking with other fans about the most recent game. It is not that we are never happy, that is a dumb fuck thing to say to fans of a university who has success in every sport. The game last Saturday had some outliers happen that were unexpected and deserve discussion. If your starting QB is hurt, then you take the points on the road. Hit that first shorter field goal, maybe the second longer one is a made. That makes it 13-13 at the end. Sure it is shoulda coulda, but that is based on football common sense.

You don't get to be the best FCS program in history without taking some chances. Questionable decisions? Sure. If it pans out we'd be talking about how gutsy and great the call was.

And again, I'm the furthest from a Bison fan, but I'd cut them some slack on this one.
