It was mentioned before that the morning doves are starting to bunch up already and I have now noticed they are. LB

That's interesting, yesterday i noticed my backyard doves building a nest...i usually have morning doves year around at my place, they have food and shelter all winter ,they hunker down in my pine tree stand on cold, snowy winter days, tough little birds

I’d be willing to bet that those are probably Eurasian collared doves
Right, the Eurasian cousins of the mourning dove don't tend to migrate to the same extent as mourning doves. I have both at my place and I can't stand the call of the collared bastards.

If I'm not mistaken the Collared Doves are an invasive species to be removed with extreme prejudice.

Time out... Where did the dove talk come from? Is there like an inside thing I don't get? Post 1 makes no sense to me?

That was the original tactic, but now that they are so well established, I think they are just simply included in the mourning dove bag limit. I am not sure you can shoot them out of season anymore.

...and you're most likely not going to use a shotgun where they're found.
