I purchased one box of golden pheasant and had 2 duds as well. Also had issues ejecting the shell. I have never had this problem with any other shell. I shoot a benelli nova pump.

Who needs 3" shells for pheasant on opening weekend??? Holy cow! I hit 'em just fine on my 20ga. 2-3/4" for the first five weeks before switching up to the 12ga after Thanksgiving.

Alot of mix responses, great info, on side note, this was the first time I tried fiocchi in this gun, and will be the last so don't know what I'll do with the remain shells. Probably just keep them till I get that new semi auto 20ga thats on my list and see if they work in the new gun.
Don't really know what possessed me to get these shells when I've had no hitches with winchester and feds all these years...smh...live and learn I guess.

870's are like garbage compactors, they aint fussy and just keep on a chuggin'. Sounds like a case of a bad matchup, just wasnt meant to be.

My 870 hates Winchester target loads. i get the same ejecting issue as described here.

I don't bother with 3" shells for upland game, but I've had no problems with Golden Pheasants in my old Ithaca 37 (2 3/4" only), Remington 11-96, S&W Super Twelve, or Beretta 470 SxS. You'll notice only one of my guns is heavy enough for comfort with 3" magnums.
