I believe in north dakota, the real reason it changed because of the time children used to walk to school. State didn't want children to have to walk in complete darkness, that isn't the case anymore since most are given rides to school.

Time for change is long overdue
June 20 2025 with law change would put sunrise time at 449am. 1/2 before sunrise 421am which is basically when it would be light outside. Sunset would be 841pm with 1/2 hr after 910pm dark

In the seventies we did the opposite we kept daylight savings on all year. I remember my mother sewing reflective tape on my parka. We didnt have bussing in town like the lazy have today ( and u wonder ehy prop taxes r high). Was it good bad or ugly. I dont remember. The country as a whole did it not one state which makes more sense.

This proposed bill wants to end daylight savings time.

Believe it or not we still have companies and workers that work a scheduled time and out of state companies with nd employees dont care what time it is in north dakota. The majority of schedule workers generally i am going to say 7 or 8 majority of em based on traffic. Heshe with the new law wakes up with daylight and has to kill time before work and then when they get home they have less time to back the boat down at the ramp. I dont see an advantage. And yes the flexible worker it wont matter; the scheduled odd hr worker bee it may or may not matter.

i have no dog in the fight because my little office will just change times so my boat will continue to be let down on the lift daily for a nice evening with sun regardless of what the law says. Summers r to short.

The lawmakers use shit like this are focusing away from what matters. The tax and spend lawmaker get the voters to concentrate on shit laws like this so the can continue there tax spend agenda

Look at the proposal. Do i have it wrong. Post your source

This year, Daylight Saving Time starts in March when the clock turns forward and it ends in November when it falls back.

The line between Central and Mountain should be a straight north-south line. The haphazard way the line crosses the state looks like a political decision of whether you wanted to be in the same time zone as a majority of the state or wanted to actually make sense with sunrise/sunset. Once the line hits Canada it jogs back east a couple hundred miles to be in line with most of the rest of the US.

If they are going to do something, write it in the law that it can't be changed again for 25 or 30 years. Then I will get some time to retire and not give a shit, like Lbrandt, and then be dead and really not give a shit.

June and July seem to have plenty of daylight. I would miss daylight savings the most in Sept/Oct and in the Spring. There would not be much daylight after work for a quick pheasant hunt or fishing trip.

Agreed with most of the above. More daylight at the end of day would be nice. The kids already get on the bus in the dark now so won’t change anything for them. But it sure would be less depressing if it wasn’t dark at 5pm during winter.

I am a morning person, even on day off with nothing going on I'm out of bed at 5 having a cup of coffee...I'd rather have more light in the morning...not the evening. In June and July campfires aren't even fun till 11...that's about 2 hours past my bedtime! I like getting on the water at 6am...off by noon before it gets hot. Just my take...
