Incredible how many deer are herded up in central ND...some areas it seems have 50-100 on every hill top. Hope Monday/Tuesday's storm doesn't do much since it might be smooth sailing after that...

Forecast shows 43F for this coming Friday (south of Fargo). SE ND really dodged a bullet with snowfall so far this winter. Most of the fields show more dirt then snow right now after that warm spell.

Kevin was saying the other night that the second half of Feb looks promising with temps above the freezing and possibly even 40. Said end of Feb could turn colder and March might not be good at all.
Time will tell as this is way too far out.
Not looking forward to snow this Monday/Tuesday and high winds again too. Or should say just a Nodak breeze!

From what I have been able to find it does appear that February is looking good, soon. March will be March just like usual.

Late last fall I heard the state meteorologist from UND on the radio. When asked about his prediction for the winter he said warmer than usual. Before it's all over this may be the case. Hard to believe with December but January wasn't all bad.

The deer in my area are looking good. Does are gettin fat and the bucks are still thin but have good browse available. The last 3 weeks have been great for them. The inch of ice that cover the fields is gone and most of the snow is gone also.

Starting to watch the temps on the pivitol forecasts and damn are they looking sexy. I'm talking snow geese into SD kind of sexy! If we didn't have such a heavy snow pack we would likely be pushing up towards the 60's but what I'm seeing is a big run were lows in the 30's will be common and highs in the 40's will be too especially in the south east part of the state. This pic shows just how strong the warm air push is that will be trying to knock down our door.

Definitely nice to see the snow go from what we had a month ago to what we have now! Add in a warm ten day forecast and the wildlife should have a much better shot then it was looking like they were going to have.
