db You are probably one of the few here that knows what it means to carry a "church key" in your pocket so you could have a beer. My dad drank North Star and us kids were happy to see the invention of pop tops so we could make a chain. Lots of cut fingers.

Davey:
yes when in high school and plans were made someone was always responsible for the church key. Screw drive or pile did not work well.

Still have my top pop chain from 66 which is mostly schultz beer pop tops. Yes Old Mill came in time as it was cheaper. And when it was tuff yes North Star, Buckhorn or similar. Any beer made in New Elm, MN.

But my top pop chain is about 96 feet long. Thought I lost it but found it in the attic as my mother must of saved it from being hidden in the truck of my 65 SS Impala when my dad traded it off while I was in Nam. That year I was a junior at NDSU. Four of us and all four of us got letters from the dean about being able to stay in school that coming winter quarter.
After the winter quarter all four of us got a second letter from the dean. As I had been there before I got one more chance. They did not so I spent spring quarter by myself.

Anyways I would not mind hearing from someone on elk horns helping with broken bones or finger aches.
I really do like this site. The lamps add a bit of class to it. db

Rich man's disease. Alcohol and red meat.

Everyone has their opinions based on what they believe, some believe they have the right facts based on what they have heard and will fight tooth and nail based on that. This was happening on FBO to the point of being stupid,on this site not so much. This and also the internet police is the reason I will never go back to FBO. The members on a site are the ones that make the site work . What i've seen on this site is someone that is being stupid is (straighten out)by members with knowledge and typically are never heard from again which is ok because those people end up ruining the site just because they can. V keep up the good work you do and we do appreciate it . To the members thanks for not being A**holes just because you can.

I'm symptom free since quitting Ibuprofen. Ibuprofen plus domestic beer combination was the devil for me.

Prednisone (cheap mexican stuff) knocks gout out in an instant - but it's bad magic. Careful with that crap. TAPER OFF if you ever have to have it.

Red meat and/or import beers seem to have no effect at all. I'm tempted to go back to my rice beer (Bud) but am askeered to.

I prefer Morgan Cokes and never had gout a day in my life so that must be the reason.

Lincoln, kinda...
Allupurinol is also your friend when it comes to keeping gout at bay.

Moreso than just red meat, it's the cured meats. That's right, sausage and bacon that are hell on people who are pre-disposed to gout. Damnit!

You imbibe in great moderation though, which is something that was beyond me. I have had very little foot/joint pain since I gave up the sauce.

For the record, Bacardi and ribeyes did tend to make me limp. But then again, I all but bathed in it.

And cheese. Anything aged (beer, wine, cheese, aged meats) is bad for gout.

Well I guess this must be common. Never heard of gout until the lady said I had it.

But I ended up with a broken toe not gout and it appears that is thank God. However the stuff she gave me "meth" something has taken all the pain away. Now for the elk horn pills to do their thing. I am starting to feel a little more frisky. Will let all know a month from now on how it works for the wife.

Got card out of one of my cameras last night. A lot of coons still up at this site and have not gone to sleep. Coyote came by carrying a coon in its mouth. Appear it was a small coon probably born this year. It only has about a dozen more to get. db

Awh yes, 1971. The alum beer cans still had pull-off pop-tops---you saved them to make decor chains to hang in the man cave!

One more highjack of this tread:

Yes I understand the concerns of ruining this site but hopefully it does not get that bad and really FB came from the ownership going to far to correct.

Called Heidi and ask why she voted no. They said she read it and it would hurt us in ND.
I stated my 2016 tax bill would of been $4,000 less with either of the current proposals and the same for this year so how does that hurt me.
They then said it would raise the debt of this country. Ok, that is a guess but what has she done to lower expenses to balance a budget.
The conversation went south at that point. It appear I was not the first to call as the fuse was short. db
