going to try to chronicle our fishing adventures this year.

This one is a little late but the weekend of April 25-26 (our 3rd anniversary) we went to the casino at New Town, won enough for supper then went down behind the casino fishing overnight, caught 2 channel cats 8 lbs and almost 3 lbs and my first burbot almost 3 lbs. caught them all on smelt during the night time.

Today our adventure was going to Skermo up in the nw corner of the state, wife caught 7 northerns and I caught 1, we kept 4. Hers were all caught on the bottom using smelt and mine was caught on a floating jig with a small nightcrawler.

graduation was last weekend, tomorrow short vacation with youngest then he visits his mom for the summer, look out fish finally will have some time to come after you

Wife and I went to Sak yesterday and fished overnight. Yesterday evening the wife caught a bunch of 18 to 22 inch northern pike while I caught nothing. She was using smelt.

A bit before the storms hit I had a bite on my turkey liver and was reeling it in to see if my bait was stolen and a 38 inch or so northern hit it. After dark I had a hit on my crawler trying to catch a sucker for cut bait. it was not a sucker but rather an 9 lb channel cat. The wife caught a smaller channel cat about 2 lbs on smelt. then all we had was bait stealers.

when I cleaned the larger cat its stomach had something hard in it and I found a piece of a back bone from an animal about 2 inches long and a bit over 1 inch in diameter and I have no idea what kind of animal it came from and there was a chunk of liver in its stomach as well. got one of the dang bait stealers anyway.

Been a busy summer not enough fishing but this morning the wife caught a 10 lb northern below 4 bears casino
