Parallax need?

For elk hunting in Colorado, and shooting 300 maybe 400 yards, does a person need a scope with parallax adjustment? I have a Leupold Vx3 4 x 12 9n my 300 win mag, but no parallax adjustment.

Walk up hill for maybe 200 or 300 yds then see if you need parallax adjustment
