Some brand-agnostic pickup thoughts:

Whomever decided that there oughta be an overhead console in a pickup needs a kick in the balls. That space should be reserved for a shelf which houses an ever-present "pickup gun" out of the way but ready at your fingertips.

The Floorshift/center console designer guy should also be castrated with a Grapefruit spoon. That's where your primary weapon for the day belongs whether it's a shotgun or a rifle.

The guru who invented traction control should have his autonomic breathing and blinking response nervous centers removed as well.

The trick to defeating the Ford center console bullshittedness when it comes to primary long gun of the day is a closet pole bracket adhered to the floor using double-sided tape. Works slick as hell but takes a little refining to get it to stick using tape.
