I now own a 14 ft john boat. I would like to use some sort of portable graph for it. I do not want to put a full size battery in boat due to weight. What are you guys using? I thought about just using my Marcum ice package but then I'd have to rig the transducer somehow so it doesn't sway. What else is out there that you guys use? Something cheap and basic. Really just want depth. thanks

I believe your ice ducer will work right thru the hull.

Use this on my little 10' Bass boat. Works great.

thats cool! However I have an 8 hrs Mariner on it. I'm not even going to put a electric motor on it. Johnr...I heard that too...is that fact?

I mounted my non ice fishing transducer to a painted 1" x 4" and clamp it to the transom with a "C" clamp. You can buy fancy brackets that will work also. The graph is in a fancy woold box like the one pictured above.

I would think if you wanted to, you could duct tape or clamp the ice ducer to a board if needed. Or, you could buy an open water transducer and mount it to the boat or a board. There are a lot of options.
