i still see ripples on da lake --- keep it going --- going to be a cold week -- but next week she warms up. AK gets really cold though -- good sign hopefully we can get the system to keep the jet going over the top of us.

Most of the large shallow sloughs froze over last night. Lakes are still wide open even on the edges. It will be thanksgiving weekend around here like every year.

With lows in the single digits the next couple nights, don't see how she won't make ice.

I am as excited as the next guy for some ice fishing, but I don't risk too much early. Coming from a guy named after a family friend who died going through the ice, please be careful.

If you find safe ice, good luck! Some freezing going on here in the north Metro of MN, but nothing like the low overnight temps you guys are getting. Could be soon in northern MN. I saw a picture of Red with a decent amount if ice.

Yeah so I wrote that message after driving home on Sunday.... leave for work early Monday morning in the dark and by the time I came home yesterday afternoon every lake I drove by was fully iced over. Hoping to get some fishing in this weekend.

Chopped open a stock pond today in Morton County that had about 2.5 inches. I’ll wait.

Gotcha...buddy and I are gonna scout on Saturday. Head to Scooby first, check conditions, then hit north bays on Audubon, then check Nelson Bay. Will take gear, but won't expect to get out...then I won't be disappointed if we can't fish! Thanks for the updates Rusty!

U guys asking for ice confuse me. Winter is long enough around here. But, fish on....

Ugh, yes. Last year I was still casting in December. Busting through deep snow to get to the water. Fishing wasn't GREAT, but I put off the inevitable, until the very last possible minute.
