Fished Darling this afternoon...7 solid inches...no issues at all. Walleye turned on just before dark...as per usual. Winds died...beautiful evening. Darling Nov 2017.jpg

Despite the warm temps last week i'm finding the ice is still growing. 6" of good ice everywhere i've been. Still not getting dialed into anything nice or consistent.

Ice was good at Darling. The freezing overnight temps seem to be keeping the ice from melting any if not building.

Hit Davis WPA over the weekend and fished it pretty hard. Barely marked a fish. Not sure whats happened there but two years ago it was a go to lake to get my kids on some fish. Ice was 6-7".

Also hit Lake Holmes. It's pretty easy to find small perch there, in fact there's probably too many small perch in the there. Shockingly, the thickest i found the ice was 3.5".

Two things about Homes. The ice is always slower to get thick there and I think it’s due to the salinity. Secondly, I’m not sure which area you were on, but they’ve finally started putting a good amount of water from the canal into Brekken and Homes.

I didn't know they were putting canal water in there, but my goodness is it crazy how much lower the lake is again this year. I usually fish off the island tip, just to the SE of it or around the corner. Pulled some nice walleye from the lake a couple years ago, not much since then.

My little stock dam had a solid 6” of clear ice in Morton County. The cows better get to it quick or the holes are gonna freeze back over.

Yeah they use to control the water level but there was a paperwork/legality issue I was told, so those lakes hadn’t saw fresh water in several years. I was told that was all alleviated now and they will be bringing those lakes back to their normal level again. That should lower the salinity a bit too.

^ Awesome Bow...the wife won't let me take the grandson out on the ice until we got a solid foot of ice. Probably have to wait to take him until closer to Christmas...;:;banghead

Might want to hold off fishing Alkaline. Lots of open water. Was froze up but the wind must have opened it up.

Gave Coal Lake, by Underwood, a visit this morning. Found 4-6" of ice throughout and pretty clear for the most part. Pulled two walleye through the ice and two more got off at the hole. First one would have been a keeper, the rest were 10-13". Nothing spectacular, but always nice to catch some fish.

Went to Josephine yesterday. East end of the lake was 6-8 inches. No marks so I decided to hit up the west end. When I went to the boat ramp there’s 6 or 7 spots of open water right off the ramp. Be careful.

I'd be pretty careful in the I-94 corridor and south. Drove from Bismarck to Fargo yesterday; still several acres of open water on Cleveland slough and south Hobart. Next couple days are going to do some damage.
